NORM FRESE, President
retired in 2000 after a distinguished 30-year career with the Cook
County Sheriff's Police. Norm, the founding president of ICOPs, has been active
in the Police Labor Movement since 1985. He is regarded as a true innovator
and a tough negotiator for ICOPs union members.
T. R. SMITH, Executive Vice-President was
known as a "cop's cop" when he retired from active police work with the Cook
County Sheriff's Police in 1997. In addition to his labor relations work with
ICOPs, T. R. served as a special investigator with the Kane County State's
Attorney's Office.
HENRY 'SONNY' HARRIS, Vice-President has
been a Police Officer in Harvey for 5 years, including a year in the special
operations unit, and is president of the Harvey ICOPs chapter. Sonny knows
that the police can play a positive role in the community. He works with many
young people to keep them off the streets and start out right. Before joining
the police force, Sonny ran his own business for 10 years..
JOSEPH H. KELLEY, Secretary-Treasurer has
been a Police Officer for 9 years in Stone Park, where he serves as the secretary
of the police pension fund. Joe helped to organize the Stone Park ICOPs chapter,
and to negotiate contracts which increased salaries by 25% and improved benefits.
Before joining the Stone Park force, he served in Elmwood Park and Melrose
Park.
RICHARD BRUNO, Staff Representative retired
May 1, 2006 after serving 29 years with the Village of Berkeley Police Department.
As a highly-effective and respected Police Officer, he was promoted to Sergeant
in 1988 and later detailed to the Northeast Metro
Auto Theft Task Force for
the State of Illinois covering Cook
County, where he served as the Field Supervisor. In June 2006, Rich joined
the ICOPs staff.
NOEL T. WROBLEWSKI, Police Labor Relations Expert
has over 25 years of experience representing Police Officers.
RICHARD F. BLASS, Lawyer, and K-9 and DARE Police
Officer - has over 13 years on the Bellwood police force.
